Help Stop Nail Biting And Thumb Sucking By lynnemg on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Trying to help my daughter to stop sucking her thumb, I tried just about everything. As a last resort, I found and bought Thum. This product claims to help a person stop sucking their thumb and biting their nails. I remember the product quite well because my parents also used it to help me stop biting my nails as a child.
This product is easy to use. You brush in on the finger as you would finger nail polish and let it dry. It has cayenne pepper extract in it to give it a spicy taste. So, when a person has it on their finger and puts that finger in their mouth, it burns and tastes nasty enough so that the person does not want to put it in their mouth again.
The product is fairly effective for kids who suck their thimb when used regularly, but be prepared for the child to become upset that their thumb tastes nasty. This is not a product that should be used on babies or toddlers though because they are likely to rub their eyes and the product will burn. I use this product in addition to other methods for getting my daughter to stop sucking her thumb, not as the sole solution.
I think that as an addition to other methods, this product can be very effective in helping to stop thumb sucking and nail biting.

Never heard of this before, but amm going to look for it, to help with the nail biting that my grand daughter does. She wants her nails done , but has none due to biting them.
Hahaha! I remember my niece sucking almost all her fingers when sleeping. Yes, this is definitely not for babies. =)
Sounds like a good product I bite my nails all the time. I need something to help me quit. I will concider this product
