I bought this set of santoku knives this summer in the middle of canning season. I grew most of my own vegetables, and I was canning the majority of them; I was frustrated with my old knife set though, because I couldn't cut soft items like tomatoes without squishing them.

I wanted to get a knife set to make canning easier, but I had no idea that I would get a set that would make cooking in general so much more enjoyable! I chose this set because it included a 5" and a 7" knife, which I thought would be more versatile. Also, it is dishwasher safe, although it is recommended to be hand washed. I have done both, and haven't have any problems.

The knives have been used quite a bit so far, and seem to holding up extremely well; they cut evenly and easily, and the handles are very comfortable to hold and use for long periods of time. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who likes to cook!
