Because this set included so many pieces for such little money, I didn't really expect much in the way of quality.But I needed new knives for my kitchen, so I decided to give these a shot.I have to say that I really underestimated their quality!These knives are exactly what I needed.This set includes a paring knife, utility knife, boning knife, bread knife, chef's knife, carving knife and six serrated steak knives, plus the storage block.The knives are a nice weight, without being difficult to handle. The block safely corrals all the knives, which helps keep the edges from being dulled by banging around in a kitchen drawer.I also like that the knives can be put into the dishwasher, since I have neither the time nor the inclination to pamper my kitchen utensils.

Whether you like to cook or not, these knives will make your life easier.Quite a deal for $50!

We use Henkles at our home too, they are very good knives.

Hey! We have the exact same set:) Bought mine at Amazon. You're right, for good basic knives these are very very good Caf. I loved the amount of descriptive detail you included in this. It is very helpful.

heehee! You are funny! I do not have the inclination to pamper my kitchen utensils either, but... unfortunately I do not have a dishwasher... sooooo I guess I am forced to allow them to live in the lap of luxury... or as luxurious as a cheap sponge and 99 cent bottle of dish soap will get... ;)

My main problem is my boys are BOYS, they grab my kitchen scissors and cuit everything, my knives get used for digging worms! I do not know who will make it in my house sometimes :S

I love Henkels knives they are one of the top knives out there for the home cook. I do not have this set that you have revied but I love my knives that I do have very much.

Oh I also wanted to add that after many years working for Bed bath and byond, I have learned that even if your knives are dishwasher safe, it is best never to put them in the dishwasher. The chemicals in the cleaners will dull your knives and may also contribute to the handles changing color depennding on what the material they are made of. I always hand wash my knives.

I have a set of henckels and let me tell you they were at least ten times the price that you paid. We probably would have been fine buying this set of knives.

These sound great. My mom bought me a really nice set but that aren't suppose to be put in the dishwasher! i am like you I don't want to pamper my knives :) Thanks for the great info.
