Herman Survivor Men's Winter Boots
By Rancosto onI have had these winter boots for over a year. I needed something warm to work outside in the snow, something sturdy and not too heavy / bulky. These Herman Survivor boots fit the bill. I also liked the pull-on design - no strings or zippers, just pull the boots on and go.
The boots turned out to be very warm, excellent for cold winter. I only use them in the coldest weather - otherwise, my feet feel too hot and start sweating. The boots have cushioned footbed, but I have to say that at first they were not very comfortable. They are rather tough, which is good for durability, but this hardness made them hard on the feet too; it took me about two months of wearing to soften them up enough and get used to them. I putin a soft insole, and it helped a lot. After about two months though, the boots feel and wear great.

I am not sure I would have given it that long to break it but glad you are satisfied with your boots. They look really nice.
Those are very good looking. I'm surprised that they are so warm.
These sound like great boots. I'll keep them in mind for my husband.
I have never wear boots before and I really don't like that period of wearing new shoes to soften them up enough and getting used to them. Usually if my shoes are uncomfortable , I will just put them aside and never wear them again!!
These look very similar in some respects to Frye boots. If they are similar in construction, it is the reason for the initial breaking in being so long. Very uncomfortable at first, but once broken in, they feel great!
2 months to break in ? They must have been really stiff. I'm glad they are more comfortable now - and that you could get a soft insole to fit for additional comfort.
With the amount of walking I usually do I'd be in too much with stiff boots like these but good review!
