Herr's Potato Chip Factory Tour
By Dadof2Disneyboys onI was recently on a family trip to southeastern Pennsylvania, and while there we went to the Herr's Potato Chip Factory in Nottingham PA for a guided tour. This was a really neat experience. When the tour starts they take you into an auditorium and show you a little movie about the Herr family and how the business got started many years ago. Then you proceed on your way through the actual factory. This is not a simulated tour either, it is in the real factory. Your guide then shows you and tells you everything that is going on and many interesting facts about making the potato chips and their other snack products. They then give everyone in your group some warm potato chips to eat, right off the line. There is also a gift shop and a counter-service restaurant inside. It was a really fun time for me and my family. We all enjoyed it very much and hope to return someday.

I've always wanted to do this, will have to make a point to take my kids this summer!
This sounds very cool! And yummy potato chips right off the line, how great! :o) I think these are the best tours, the ones where you can get inside a food factory and see exactly how things are made.
Sounds like an interesting tour. Thanks for sharing the information and your experience.
This sounds pretty cool. It's always neat to see how things are really made.
I bet this was so fun! I love seeing hoe things are made. I would love to actually see it in person someday!
You forgot to tell us what warm potato chips taste like! Now that you have had them do you prefer them warm or room temperature?
This is an absolutely wonderful tour. Fun for the whole family! And you can't beat the price - FREE!!
I've never heard of Herr's chips. This sounds like a fun tour and you can't beat hot fresh chips, they sound yummy.
