Hewlett Packard DV9700T Laptop 17 Inch
By Eggy on - Updated Sep 18, 2011I love my HP DV9700 laptop. It has the Vista operating system, which I was not looking forward to but have learned to love.
It boots up quickly.I have an IntelT8100 2.1GHz CPU, 3 GB RAM, a 512MB NVIDIA 8600 GS video card. My computed Windows Experience Score is 4.9, and its power definitely meets my needs.
It has an integrated webcam, fingerprint reader, dual 7200 rpm 120GB HDs, high capacity 8-cell battery, and wireless LAN b/g/n.The fingerprint reader enhances security, and eliminates the need to key in a password at start up.
This is my first computer with Vista. There was almost no learning curve (from Windows XP or 2000). Vista has some nice features, and after a couple of months I prefer it to anything else.
It was simple to configure wireless LAN (WiFi) capabilities. It is also has Bluetooth capabilities, but I have not taken advantage of it yet.
The large 17 inch display, makes it a little more difficult to take on airplanes, but you can have more open windows, and the trade-off is worth it to me.
This is a great laptop.I very seldom use my office laptop anymore I like this better.
Update On Mar 04, 2010: The Droste effect is a specific kind of recursive picture.

Great information. I'm thinking of getting a laptop soon for college. Thanks

A great laptop but vista is really not my fave.... thx...
I love HP. I've been considering getting a new laptop, but I've put off taking the plunge. I'll keep this one in mind when I decide to go ahead and buy it. Thanks!
A very well-made product plus advanced Wireless Mobility.
