High Tide In Hawaii By donnabc on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Chapter books for little boys are almost as hard to find as cute clothes for baby boys! Thank God for Mary Pope Osborne! The Magic Tree House series is one of only a few chapter book series that my son enjoys and asks for. He started reading these when he was in the end of 1st grade and still enjoys them now in 3rd. What he likes the most about this story is the adventures Jack and his little sister have. And of course the magic book that gets them there! I like the fact that the chapters are short (about 6 to 8 pages). This makes it an excellant book to read at night before bedtime. Even more important to my 8 year old than the story is the wonderful pictures. He absolutly will not read a book without at least one picture every few pages. High Tide in Hawaii has at least one illustation in each chapter. I also appreciate the fact that the book sneaks in some educational information about Hawaii throughout the story.

My girls LOVE this series, too! They can't get enough.
