When I was a kid, many years ago, I remember how much I loved getting my new issue of Highlights in the mail. I had forgotten all about his wonderful children's magazine until my mother in law bought a subscription for my 5 year old daughter. As a parent I am so pleased that Highlights has maintained the quality and educational content in their magazine. Both my daughter and I enjoy every issue! The magazine includes wonderful articles relevant to todays world like the environment, with very well written articles that children can enjoy and understand. It is also filled with games and puzzles that challenge children's developing minds. And of course it entertains with funny jokes and riddles and fun stories. I love that after all these years, they continue to include their classic features, like Goofus & Gallant, two brothers that help you teach the importance of good manners. And my favorite (even now) the hidden pictures. My daughter, who has a budding creative side, loves seeing all the pictures and reading the poems but other children. And she has enjoyed learning by trying some of the science projects featured each month. Highlights is a wonderful classic that has clearly stood the test of time and I highly recommend sharing it with a child you love.
