Hiking At South Mountain North Carolina By Tina Vang on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

On March 3, 2009, my brothers and my cousins were going on a hiking trip and I decided to tag along. I didn't think it'd be a long hiking trip but we ended up doing eight miles! I am still in pain from that day! It was a great experience but I'd never do this ever again! The trail was very long and there were no bathrooms along the way! I had to wait until we got to the place where we started to use the bathroom! At the beginning of the trip we climbed so many stairs! I don't know how much but it was alot! This is not a hiking trip you'd like to go on if you're not much of a hiker. I thought I'd never get back to the car! I have to admit though, I did like the experience. I just don't like the pain. Also, if you go on this trip, try to limit what you carry because you feel that weight on you after a while. It does not matter how light it is! Also, bring alot of water with you! We ran out of water half way through the trips! It was torture! There were no water fountains so you had to bare with what you take. I thought there were going to be fountains though. There was a river though. The water was very cold and nice but you wouldn't want to drink from it. If you're looking for a challenge, try this.
