If you are planning a trip to the Los Angeles area between June and October, check the Hollywood Bowl schedule to see what might be playing during your stay! While L.A. is known primarily for the beach, shopping in Beverly Hills or checking out the stardom scene in downtown Hollywood, the area also is home to the Hollywood Bowl and it really shouldn't be missed!

The Bowl is the summer venue for the LA Philharmonic Orchestra but also offers an incredible eclectic variation of other performers in jazz, Country, New Age, Classical, Rock, Classic Rock, Lounge, Techno, Kid's Themes- you name it! Every summer ends with a stunning Fireworks Finale that glows over the LA skyline.

My favorite performer that comes annually to the Bowl is John Williams and if you have the opportunity to see him (usually in September) you will not be disappointed! Leading the LA Phil and often several guest stars, he covers many classical pieces all the way up through his wildly popular film music, doing samples from Harry Potter, Jaws, ET, Indiana Jones, Superman, and of course Star Wars!

Bowl tickets are tiered like many outdoor venues with curved amphitheater style rows way up into the "nose-bleed" section, but they recently redid the theater to include giant jumbo video-feed screens to keep everyone in the action. In the front of the stadium are the coveted box seats where you can haul in your dinner or actually have dinner served to you when you arrive (not cheap).

Being a typical LA attraction, parking and traffic are HORRIBLE so do your research and give yourself plenty of time before your show so you don't ruin the evening for yourself! They have limited parking on site or shuttles to satellite lots around town. Your best bet is to get a large group together and rent a limo. Although a bit pricey, you won't regret having someone else drive and not having to wait getting in and out of the facility.
