The have a glossy exterior which can be easily cleaned My Home Hero fire extinguisher sits out in the open in my kitchen where it is easily accessible. This can save precious time if a fire were to break in my kitchen. I am embarrassed to say, my old clunky red unattractive extinguisher was tucked so far away underneath my kitchen sink that if a fire were to break out, I would have had to dig past plastic grocery store bags, cans of dog food, and old pots and pans to reach it. I purchased my Home Hero from Home Depot for a mere $25. It works the same as standard extinguishers. If you have limited counter space, it comes with brackets for wall mounting. I highly recommend this IDEA award winning home safety product.
