Home Trends Curtains By Kakoa on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When we moved in to our new house we needed curtains for just about every window. I didn't want to spend a ton of money and knew covering all those windows would be expensive if I wasn't careful. I knew what I wanted and hoped I could find at least something close to it at Wal-Mart.

I was pleasantly surprised to find exactly what I was looking for there! I needed short curtains (not floor length), and wanted 2 panels per window. I also wanted to hang the curtains from a round bar, so I needed curtains that hung by large hoops.

I had 5 different rooms I wanted to hang them in, and needed them all to be different colors. Although they didn't have a lot of color choices, they had all that I needed. I ended up buying a set of black, brown, 2 sets of khaki, and 2 sets of olive drab green. All these colors keep the light out very well!

Each set comes in a pack of 2 curtains. They are 100% cotton, but have a very durable, thick feel. They are machine washable, but I have never had to clean them in the year they have been hanging. The tabs are large enough that they easily slide over the rod without me having to fight to get them open or closed. I can't remember the exact measurements, but each panel can cover the whole width and length of a standard house window. I use 2 panels per window though for looks and to make sure they completely block out light when closed.
