Honda Fit By Hedy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I test drove the Honda Fit when I was car shopping this past year, and I liked it. I liked its versatility, the fact that it was a brand I was already loyal to (my 1998 Honda Accord was totalled, which is why I was car shopping), and that it fit my budget. The Fit also has anti-lock brakes standard, and they are rarely standard in economy class cars. Also, unlike its sibling the Civic, the base Fit has air conditioning and a radio standard. However, I felt that the brakes were a little tight, and I was not thrilled that I could have had the one I drove or out a deposit down on an unseen one. Because of this, I would have pretty much had to pay sticker price for this car. I also wish the Fit had an option for an inexpensive iPod/MP3 hookup-Honda's only option was over $400.

I'm not impressed with the fit at all. Nor do I feel Honda's safety record is as good as is touted. Having seen two collisions with late model Honda's, and seeing the enormous damage done to both, this would not be a preferred brand for my family.

Honda offers all safety features standard on any Honda vehicle you purchase, unlike most vehicles: the higher model you purchase on other cars, the more safety features they offer. Not Honda, Honda feels safety is the number one importance in a vehicle and offers the same safety for all. You can't go wrong with a Honda!
