Honeywell Programmable Thermostat By 999frights By 999frights on - Updated Sep 26, 2011

I bought this Honeywell Programmable thermostat for my upstairs. The price was right, but when I got it home, there were not any instructions on how to install it. I finally figured it out and set it up. It was very easy to set up.

I can set the thermostat to have the same program for Monday-Friday and then the same program for Saturday and Sunday (that is the 5-2 day programs). There are 4 time settings and you can adjust them to the times you want and the temperatures you want.

Here is my complaint - It always runs hotter than I set it in the winter and cooler than I set it in the summer. So in the winter, if I want it to be 68, I need to set it to 65 or 66. Just last night I walked upstairs and it was hot. The thermostat said it was 78 degrees. I had the thermostat set to 64 for bedtime and earlier I manually adjusted it to 68. I guess it decided to go up to 78. I went through the program settings and everything looked right. If you adjust the setting temporarily - it will last for 2 hours then go back to the programmed setting.

This morning I felt like it was warm and it was 2 degrees higher than I had it set. Then all of a sudden the thermostat said it was 77 degrees. Within 2 minutes, it read 74 degrees. It definitely does not give reliable readings. This last week is the only time I have seen the temperature jump like that.
