Reviewing: Hooked On Phonics Learn To Read Pre K Edition
Purchased at: Jc Penney     Price: $34.99 USD

The Pre-K Edition of Hooked on Phonics is for kid's ages 3 to 4 and helps them in the first steps to learning to read. With this program we are able to help our 4-year-old grandson learn letter names and sounds to get him on the road to reading. Included in the boxed set are 2 interactive computer CD's, storybook, 3 workbooks with lessons and activities, dictionary, 2 sets of letter cards, 140 picture cards, a Parent's Guide, and 3 progress posters with stickers.

The CD's are loaded on to our computer to be used along with the workbooks. They teach letter names, word sounds and he can sing along to the alphabet song. The game he likes the most is the rhyming game.He has to help put items in a shopping cart that rhyme. He has so much fun playing the games that he will often ask to play them even when we are not using the program. It's nice to know he is learning in the process of playing. He has already learned to read a few words and it has only been a couple of weeks since we bought this.

The step-by-step Parent's Guide shows you exactly how to use the program. The progress poster makes it easy to chart his progress and keeps our grandson excited about learning the first steps to reading.

This sounds great! I will want to be getting something like this for my son...when he is just a bit older!

I have always wanted to get this for my son when he was younger. I never got around to it though. Sounds like it does really help kids with their learning.

Phonics are SO important, best to make sure kids get them rather than depend on the schools for it.

Amen Sharkey! It is always best for parents to do their own teaching with the help of programs like this. That way you KNOW your children really do get it.

This is such an excellent tool to teach children how to read.
