Hoover Dam By Momrocks on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Hoover Dam is one of those places that you just have to see before you die. Well this trip might just kill you. It is a rip off to go into the Hoover Dam for their tour, at least if you have kids. It cost $7 just to park and that doesn't count the $25 you have to put out to see the inside of the dam. Once inside you are not allowed to take anything inside. Not even water. You have to throw everything away before entering. Once inside you enter into a little museum like area. and wait for your tour to start. This takes a long time. Once your tour begins you get a little movie intro to the dam and it's history before being squeezed into an elevator to go to the lower levels of the dam. You will get to see the engine rooms and see how they would work. You then go farther down see some more engineering wonders but if you have little kids in strollers they will ask you to say up top as there is not a lot of room. WSell there would be if the tours did not pack so many people into them. Considering how much you pay everything should be available for you to see. The restuarant has very little in it and is extremely expensive. Oh ya that's why you can't take anything in. The day we were there it was 107 at 10 am and only got hotter. If visiting the Hoover Dam I would suggest driving on it and entering into Arizona. That was way more exciting and guess what it was free.
