I have been through many a vacuum and nothing compares to one you can wind the cord up inside the unit. You push this button and like a tape measure, coils it inside the unit. No more trying to get knots out, no more having my husband mad when I lump the cord over the handle! No, this is much better. I bought this vacuum at Target for around $100. I believe some stores have it on sale now for less! To empty the canister, you just flip this little lever and *plop* out comes all the contents (providing you have it over the garbage, of course). There is no getting your hands dirty! And...easy clean up when you want to just simply clean the vacuum. It has great power, not really noisy, it does a great job with cleaning and over all is an AWESOME vacuum cleaner. I wouldn't waste my money on a Dyson! I always find an excuse to vacuum now that I have this one! :)
