Hostel Dvd Review By Tifffany on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Hostel is written and directed by Eli Roth and tells the story of 3 young men who are backpacking across Europe. They hear of a hostel in Slovakia with beautiful women and head there for some fun. While they do find the women there, they also find something much more horrible and deadly.

This movie is reminiscent of the horror movies of the 80s in that it has a LOT of gore and not much plot. The colors are very dark and gristly - which is fitting for the subject matter but not very exciting. This movie is not for the faint of heart as there is extreme violence and very graphic horror scenes. There is also liberal nudity, so I would definitely not show it to young or even mid-aged children. It is worth a watch so you can see what all the talk is about, but I don't find it to be as good as most people think.
