This is a wonderful hot pad/trivet from Pampered Chef is made of silicone. This item has many uses, it can be a hot pad, trivet, jar opener and non-skid mat. This 8" x 8" silicone can be all of those things. How amazing is that. You spend $10.00 and can use this item for all of those uses.

I love this item, as it is heat resistant up to 625 degrees and can be thrown into the dishwasher. I use this to get hot dishes out of the oven and also to place my hot dishes on top of after getting them out of the oven.

The mat has ridges in it to reduce the possibility for the item you are carrying to slip out of your hands. I actually have purchased three of the hot pads, just because I use them for everything.
