How About A Little Ice For That Burn? By Alice on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

On a recent trip to see my brother we took the pontoon boat for a nice leisurely ride around Hess Lake near Newaygo, Michigan. I'm not a sun worshiper these days but really didn't notice how hot the sun was with the great breeze we were getting off the lake as we drove around.

A few hours later the back of my neck and tops of my arms were beet red and felt really warm. My sister in law went inside and came out with a bottle of Hawaiin Tropic Cool Aloe I.C.E. Lidocaine Gel. She put it on the back of my neck while I did my arms I.C.E. stands for Instant Cooling Effect which is what I felt right away.

This gel soothes burns with vitamin A & E and is enriched with allantoin & aloe vera which also helps to prevent peeling. When we got home I went and bought my own bottle to keep up the regimen as it really helped the burned areas to feel so much better. The active ingredient is Lidocain 0.8%.

The gel went on smoothly, didn't sting nor did it feel sticky. I felt like a little kid as I haven't gotten burned like that since my high school days when we purposely laid out on the beach for hours slathered in baby oil!!

I think this would be a great product to have around for parents with children that are playing outside for any length of time along with some great SPF suntan lotion to keep from getting burned in the first place!
