I bought this printer a few years ago. At first it was great! It made nice prints, scanned and copied just fine. It wasn't long before my computer starting rebooting itself. As soon as I uninstalled the printer and all its componants, my pc was fine. I reinstalled the software and drivers and the printer wouldn't work. I decided to order a cd for the updated software thinking maybe that was the problem. I got it, installed it, and the printer still wouldn't work. My son also bought a printer just like it. He said it was a piece of crap. After it crashed his computer he quit using it. After searching the internet I found that a lot of people were having trouble with this printer. A $100 piece of crap? Maybe good for a footstool?

That was surprising coming from a HP product - great tip!
Same can be said of dell printers. We bought it, worked like 3 times with windows XP, then paper jam and the paper tored it apart. Now it isn't working anymore
