HP 1315 series all in one printer scanner copier

I bought this printer a few years ago.At first it was great!It made nice prints, scanned and copied just fine. It wasn't long before my computer starting rebooting itself.As soon as I uninstalled the printer and all its componants, my pc was fine.I reinstalled the software and drivers and the printer wouldn't work. I decided to order a cd for the updated software thinking maybe that was the problem. I got it, installed it, and the printer still wouldn't work. My son also bought a printer just like it. He said it was a piece of crap. After it crashed his computer he quit using it. After searching the internet I found that a lot of people were having trouble with this printer.A $100 piece of crap?Maybe good for a footstool?
