HP Pavilion a6323w Dual-Core Processor
By Rae777 onHP Pavilion a6323w Desktop PC w/ AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5200+ - I got this computer about a month ago. So far it seems like a great computer. It got a 5200 processor. I would have preferred more of a 5600 but this is fine. It has 3 gb RAM . The hardrive is huge and holds 720gb.Its much faster than my old computer. Comes with a CD/RW DVDRW combo. Not sure what to do with the second cd slot but it has one incase you want to put something there. Also has a slot for an HP Pocket media bay but you have buy it. The only bad things about it are:
-While I have not tried it I am almost positive that the graphics card would need to be better if you are a hardcore gamer. I say this because usually HP's gaming computers usually are around 800 dollars and up. Not a big deal for me.
-Expandability, and I am not sure of this but I imagine it only expands to 4GB. Not a big deal for me because I generally do not expand computers. I use them for 3-7 years and then I get a new one. My old HP was 7 years old.
-Has Vista on it and and the newest Internet Explorer. However, Vista can be tweaked to look a little more like XP. Unfortunately the new Internet Explorer 8 is a piece of crap so I put Mozilla Firefox on it.
-Does not come with a monitor but I have one.
Overall I am very pleased with this computer.

Hi Rae- Thanks for the good information about this computer. Faster I could sure use! Thanks for the heads up about not including the monitor.
This looks like a good desktop-I liked reading both the pros & cons of it. You have a lot of hard drive-go to town girlfriend!!!
It sounds like overall this is a good computer for the money. I just got a new laptop that has Vista on it and I am trying to figure it all out still. Being my first laptop, sometimes I'm not sure if it's the laptop or the Vista and when I ask my husband about it, he has no idea because he never uses the Vista.
3GB RAM,64 bit processor and nearly 1TB of HDD.Great PC..
You forgot to say that it makes people jealous...
HP is a nice make and dual core is a good choice. I my self use dell computer but this one looks nicely reviewed i'll keep in mind.
