H.R. Giger's Absinthe Brevans By GnossoS on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I love absinthe, and when I saw there was a brand endorsed by H.R. Giger I had to try it. I don't have a whole lot of experience with absinthe, but I have tried it more than a couple times - including Sebor Absinthe, a popular brand - and this was by far my favorite.

The scent and taste is reminiscent of Jager, (as with many absinthes), but much more exotic. I heard about Fairy Bombs and decided to try my own, mixing the absinthe with Red Bull. It was delicious! Again, very similar to Jager Bombs but absinthe is such a weird, floaty drunkeness. It feels much more... intellectual, I guess. Just very floaty, that's the only way I can think to describe it.

Of course I also drank it a few times in the traditional style: pouring the absinthe over sugar cubes on a spoon over a glass, lighting the cubes aflame to crystalize the sugar, then exstinguishing the flame with ice water to cause the "louche", giving the beverage a cloudy, light green hue.

I recommend smoking Djarum Blacks to chase it straight, adds even more to the exotic taste.
