Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine - Sweet!
By Jan Mayrhofer onSince my seventeen year old daughter decided she wants to be a fashion designer, (who doesn't, after seeing Project Runway creations?!) it was apparent that she would need to learn to sew. I am a firm believer in nurturing my childrens' interests, so off we went to go sewing machine shopping. (It didn't hurt, of course, that I've been wanting a new machine for myself since mine hasn't worked properly for years.) I couldn't be happier with the choice we made.
This sewing machine practically sews by itself. Really! To begin with, it has a built in needle threader, which is very important for those of us whose eyes aren't all they used to be. It also has a one-step buttonhole maker. Amazingly, all you need to provide is a correctly sized button, and this machine makes the button hole itself.
A lot of thought has gone into the design and usability of this sewing machine and, truly, if you are in the market for a sewing machine please check out the Viking Emerald at husqvarnaviking.com.

Sewing machines sure have come a long way!
These are really nice machine. We play with them all the time in Joanns, they have a great selection there. Makes me want to learn to sew.
I love my Viking! I have a different model, but think you can't go wrong with this brand. Thanks for sharing your experience!
The one step button-hole maker sounds amazing. I have personally been trying to figure out how the heck to use my button hole maker on my machine for the past year! this one sounds like it would be a breeze!
Thank you for all the info. This sounds like a wonderful machine even for a beginner.
I wish I had learned to sew when I was younger. Sounds like a great machine.
My mother in law bought this machine two yars before she died and loved the features she found in it. Including the buttonhole maker and needle threader. She was 80 years old and her old Singer just didn't fill her unique needs.
This sounds like a wonderful machine. I wouldn't mind having it myself.
What an amazing sewing machine. I haven't used one in years but this one sounds like fun. I am not sure I even remember how to thread the Singer I have in the house. Good luck to your daughter. I'm sure she's going to be sewing all sorts of wonderful clothes for herself.
this sounds like a nice sewing machine....i hope my daughter is into sewing as much as yours!!
