Hyundai Elantra By Amy Curtis on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We purchased this car in 2004. While reading this review keep in mind that my husband and I are both over 6 feet tall. There is plenty of room for the driver and the passanger, as long as the passanger is up front. There is not a lot of room in the back. The trunk in this car is much bigger than you would think. The rear seats fold down so you can store more stuff in the car. It gets great gas milage, four hundred miles to the tank. While it may not be the sexiest car on the street, it is sleek, it's compact, and well worth the little money that it cost. I would not recommend taking this car on long trips with more than two people however. But if you do get thirsty, you will be happy to know that there are 6 cupholders to accommodate all of your refreshment needs!

I have always thought the Elantra was a cute car for the money but my husband does not agree and refuses to even look at them. I may get him to change his mind however since we will have a teenager to car shop with in just a few short years.
Admittedly, these cars have come a long way. Not the fastest but still a pretty good buy.
Sounds like a great car. Now a days, gas is more important than how fancy it looks! I love the gas mileage on this. Thanks
I myself own a Chevy Cobalt LS and love the mileage. I was however considering a Hyundai when I was shopping. It sounds as if the two cars are very similar. I however went for the sportier look of the Chevy. However, when the need for a new car comes up I will take this into consideration for a Hyundai.
My brand new Elantra died the first time 11 Km outside the dealership after we first picked it up. The block heater was not properly connected. It died the second time when the Head Gasket went two weeks later due to a factory defect. We are currently without a car for at least three days while our less than two week old Elantra gets fixed because the engine is now warped. Great car!!!
