Hyundai Getz 1.1 By poshpost on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

We acquired a 2nd hand of this 2005 model of the Hyundai Getz. It was pretty new, with only 15,000 mileaged. We got it pretty cheap and its value increased lately with the increase in the value of the gas.

It is bright yellow in color and I like it, because it is small and very attractive like a toy. If it were in silver or gold, it would not look respectable. But I like it just the way it is.

It can comfortably seat up to five, with some stuff stashed in the back. We even have a speaker at the back. We have climbed heights with it, and it cooperated.

There is one hitch though. For a 1.1 engine, it is a guzzler. We are now running at 1:8 for city driving. And with the gas prices increasing every week, its consumption is really very high.

Other than that, it is a pretty good car. We had it checked twice, nobody can seem to adjust it to consume less gass.

Update Posted on :

I still encounter many people who say that Hyundai Getz 1.1 is economical. I only sigh. We are still running at 1:8 despite different driving styles and after several adjustments.

It sounds like a good looking sporty little car. I'm surprised the mileage is that bad. Maybe the engine needs steam cleaning?

For an economy car, I'm surprised about the gas mileage!

The Hyundai Getz sounds like a great little car for you. I agree with the others, it should get better gas mileage.

I don't think I've ever seen this model. I always liked my Hyundai.
