I Can See Clearly Thru My New Telescope!!! By Bobbi Mckenney on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My oldest son is really into astronomy and spotted this telescope at our local "over stock" store the Value Giant. The was really eying it and made it very clear that it would be really cool to have. I decided to go back a few days later and see if they still had it and by golly they did. I was really lucky because it was the last one! It was extremely reasonably priced at $14.99 and I figured that it would be a great telescope for him to start with. Once I brought it home for him he immediately tore into it and set it up. It came with 3 different eye pieces which were 16.6MM wide field, 8.33 MM high power, and an erecting eyepiece. Of course it has the zoom feature on the telescope itself. Mounted on the tripod is stands about 3ft tall. My son could not hardly wait for nightfall so that he could look at the moon and stars. He said that is worked great for looking at the moon and other planets but was not high powered enough for gazing at the stars. I still think that this is a good first telescope and "trainer" for getting nicer more expensive telescopes.

Not bad for young kids but I doubt they'd be able to see much without a higher powered one.
