I Can't Get Enough Of My Playstation 2
By Melissa onI bought a Playstation 2 in 2002. I bought it mainly because it was a DVD player and I just moved into my apartment out of my parent's house and I didn't have a DVD player. I figured it would be best to buy the PS2 since I would have both a video game console and a DVD player.I absolutely love my PS2. I have yet to have any problems with my PS2. It is such a great purchase because it can also be used as a DVD player and a CD player. The PS2 is lightweight and slim. I don't play online but you are able to play games online because it has a built-in Ethernet and modem ports. When you buy a PS2, it comes with a dualshock analog controller, AC Adaptor, AV Cable, and AC power cord.
I love how the PS2 has several different games to choose from and it is actually really easy to transport. I bring it with me whenever I go on trips, because it is easy to hook up to hotel room televisions, and that way I have a DVD player with me and I can play video games too.
I also bought an accessory where I am able to plug in 4 controllers at once, so if the game is a 4 player game than 4 people can play at once. That is a really cool accessory. I am really happy with purchase and will definitely be getting a PS3 in the future.

I need a game system. I have not had one in many years!
I bought my PS2 around the same time as you and for the exact same reason. At that time, DVD players were still relatively expensive and I figured why not buy a gaming system that could play DVDs as well. We still have ours, still use it as a DVD player and it works great!
we brought our PS2 a few years back as my son's first gaming system. He still plays with it and it is great to watch DVDs on it. I hope to some day get a PS3, but it is out of the budget right now
I didn't realize a PS3 is coming out!!! That shows you how much I know about these consoles!! It sounds like you're having a ball with your's!
Good to know that it's really easy to hook up.
My daughter got one for Christmas a few years ago and she loves it. She is 13, but I think her 8 year sister, loves it more than her. She will sneak in her room and play it every chance she gets. Thanks for the totally dead on information, because the dvd aspect was really important when getting this one too.
