I Finally Found A Hiking Boot For My Braid! By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This hiker-theme zipper pull works well as a slightly oversized charm.

I had seen a similar product a few years ago but it was about twice as big as this little zipper pull and that made it a little heavier than I wanted. I have a single braid in my hair and I like to fasten some little doo-dad to the end. Of course, my favorite topic is hiking, so I was ecstatic when I found this boot that is about 7/8 inch long, ½ inch high, and maybe a shade over 1/4 inch wide.

I took the zipper pull part off, and just attached a short cord and rubber band and it's ready for my hair.

I especially like that the bottom of the boot is cast in a real hiking boot pattern. And it's just heavy enough to hold the braid down straight (it tends to curl with nothing on it).

The charm is genuine pewter, made in the USA, by Windy Ridge Arts of Glen, New Hampshire. It says “Designed by Paul Miletich”
