I Know Why They Don't Make Dodge Neons Anymore
By kateri27 onMy first car was a Dodge Neon.I loved it, at first.
The first year was a blast.I had my first new car, I had the freedom of the open road, and I had no problems to speak of.
The second, third, forth, fifth, and sixth years...not so great!
It started out innocently enough with my air conditioning unit dying.Well $1000 later I thought I was good to go.Nope the head gasket blew, the struts died, the brakes were a nightmare, the air conditioner died again, and the alarm system I had put on this puppy, well lets just say it didn't work because the front hood was a little too easy for thieves to open up.
I was in the garage with this car every six months for four years.I finally called it quits when the starter died.I initially ran out and bought a new starter for my boyfriend to install for me, but then decided to give the car to a friend if they installed the starter and call it a day.
I am so glad I am not driving that evil car.I have been much happier with my new economy car...my Honda Civic.

Sounds like you got a real lemon! Glad you like your new Civic though (love my Accord :) )
Gacck! Darned Devil car:) It sounds like this particular model had very little shelf life. That was an expensive first vehicle my friend.
Oh no! I have driven on of these on vacation in Hawaii. I guess if you get them during the first year you are safe. They probably can't wait to sell it soon after it reaches one year of age! Too bad you put so much money into it and ended up giving it away.
...'that evil car".... funny! (Well, it probably wasn't at the time!)
I can totally sympathize with you. I had an evil car of my own... still do... it is currently holding down the driveway.
Wow, my hubby has had a Neon for 8 years, and except for the ill effects of hitting too many deer it has done really well.
Sorry to hear that you had so many problems with this car. I know you were glad to get rid of it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I felt weird in the Neon looking left & right and seeing your knees
LOL, what a lemon. I felt your pain as you described this car...I had a very similar experience with MY first car (a ford) and now drive a Honda too :0)
I bet you're happy that you are rid of the "evil car"! I felt your pain!
