I miss my Scion

When my Hubby's truck died on him... I know he will never get over it. He loves his truck so much. So he just hauled it away for awhile. He bought a new compact car while his truck was in the garage. He bought me a car instead of him buying a new truck. He bought me a red 2008 Toyota Scion XD. After couple of months we got his truck a new motor and I took over the Scion.

I love that car. It was the very first car I owned. I chose it and I chose the color. I love that car because it was so efficient and economical. It is compact... small but spacious. It has 35 gas mileage and with the price of gas we had last year it was really very efficient. We drove it to Canada on our first wedding anniversary and it ran good. I missed it.

The week before Christmas... I was driving my Scion [with my Hubby] after a snow storm to sign my first job contract. On our way back... we just stopped to buy few more stuff from the wish list for Christmas presents. Back on the slicky... slushy... and icy road. My Scion got on the ditch. When I went back on the road, I panicked and jammed on the break... the tires spun and the car slid sideways on the opposite lane and went straight to the other ditch and crashed on the huge pine tree head-on. Good thing that we were the only people on the road and didn't hit anyone.

God is good. We survived the car accident without a scratch but my Scion was totaled. Oh well, it was just a car. What is more important is that... we were able to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones.
