I Need Some Cash! By Robbie on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Have you ever lived payday to payday and a crisis come up? Flat tire, doctor visit, gas money? It has happened to all of us at some point in time and I tell you I would rather pay a fee at a check cashing business than bounce a check!

Check Into Cash will loan you up to $800.00 at a time. You write a check from your personal checking account and they hold that check until you pick it up, usually within two weeks.

All you do is go into the nearest location to you, take a photo identification, your most recent pay stub, you will need atleast 3 personal references, and usually yyou will need the name and numbers of 3 family members as well.

In some cases you are allowed to pay the intrest of the loan and write another check for the new date and it is still cheaper than a bank fee.

I do not suggest getting a cash advace to buy pizza or rent movies, but if you get in a pinch and have to have some money it is a better alternative to boucing a check at your bank.

I agree with sizwizz. I hope to never use this kind of service, but it's nice to know it's available as an emergency option.

It is not wise to use them, but there are times when desperate times call for desperate measures. You are right. Better to pay a fee the bounce a check. Thanks for sharing the information.

I don't think this is a good option unless there is an emergency. I think these kind of businesses are taking advantage of those who are in need and they don't realize what they have gotten themselves into until it's too late.

Bouncing a check at the bank is getting so expensive that if you were really, really in a bind, this might be an ok option to look into.

What is the interest on this "loan"? I would guess it is in the 70 to 80% range. It is true that sometimes you get in a fix and need money quick but people need to be aware of the amount of interest they will be paying.

I would have to call them to know the exact rate, but I do know for $200.00 it is $15.00 intrest every two weeks. My bank charges $39.00 if you happen to bounce a check no matter how much you wrote the check for. I do only recommend these if you are in a bad way though, it is cheaper than a bank fee and only get what you can pay back, otherwise you are looking at the fee every two weeks and that can add up quickly.

Or course, we all know these resources should only be used in case of emergency!
