I Want To Be Somebody New By donnabc on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I just love stories that "teach" lessons. Robert Lopshire did a wonderful job with this Beginner Reader! I'm not sure what the character in the book is suppose to be; but whatever he is, he sends my son into giggles every time he opens this book. And when I'm trying to get him to read as much as possible, this is a great plus for me! This endearing yellow character with red pocka dots has decided he doesn't like who he is so he's gonna change himself into someone new. And what kid DOESN'T want to be someone or something else? His friends follow him around while he changes into all sorts of animals from an elephant to a mouse. Each page ellisits a new round of giggles from my son. And each time the character presents his new self, his friends are quick to tell him that they want his regular old self back. In the end, he too desides it not so bad being him and so he decides to stay himself. One of our all time favorites.
