I Wish I Had My Old Corolla Back By peatfire on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My husband and I have owned three Toyota's. This is our second Corolla, and unfortunately, I liked our previous model better.

The car has been reliable so far, and it's good on gas. Those are the main things we look for in a car. There are a few major annoyances, however. First, the remote control device that contains the lock and alarm button is EXTREMELY poor in design. We don't even have a security system, it's just a panic button. It goes off accidentally several times each week while in my husband's pocket, which isn't a great way to win friends in the neighborhood or keep a low profile in the mall parking lot.

Also, the suspension system is too firm, making for a very uncomfortable ride. We usually hang on to a car for about 7 years. I'm so tired of feeling bruised and battered after every pothole that I'm counting down the days down until we can replace this one.

how disappointing for you. You always expect the newer version to be an improvement on the last one. Sorry that was not the case for you.

I love Toyotas, but with everything I think older was better quality

We had this issue until we put better shocks and struts on ours. That coupled with a tire upgrade-Pirelli's made a huge difference.
