If You Give A Moose A Muffin By dragoncoach on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I can pretty much recite this book from front to back due to the number of times I have read this to my son. I must say though, that I enjoy this book (almost) as much as he does.

One of my pet peeves with kid's books is the "flow" of some of the books- it seems erratic sometimes, and they use simple words where they don't necessarily fit. I like reading books to my son that have a "rythym" to them, and this book has that, which I think makes it more enjoyable for both reader and listener.

I also like how this book teaches kids actions and consequences- for example, if you give a moose a muffin, he'll probably want some jam to go with it. We use this to talk about behaviors with my son- for example, "...if you pick up your toys, then we will go for a bike ride."

The illustrations in this book are fun and colorful, and the book is super entertaining for little ones as you read about the adventures of the boy and the moose who ate the muffin. The end of the story brings everything back full circle, which kids seem to like. I definitely recommend adding this one to your collection!
