If You Give A Mouse A Cookie By Rae777 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is written by Laura Joffe Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond. In my opinion this is a wonderful story for children 4 to 8 years of age. Its the story of a mouse who shows up at a boy's house and ask for a cookie. Once the boy gives him the cookie it sets off the mouse to asking for other related things such as a cookie, then a glass of milk, then a napkin and then a mirror to look at himself to make sure he does not have a milk mustache. This continues to go on until the story circles back around and has the mouse asking for another cookie. This is known in education circles as a circle story. This is a great story for children and can inspire them to write their own stories such as circle stories.
This book is well written and the illustrations are wonderful and very colorful.
Absolutely fantastic book for children by a woman who also has written other circle stories such as If You Give a Pig a Pancake and If You Give a Moose a Muffin.
