The children's book If You Take a Mouse to School, written by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond is a must-have for all families with a school-age child. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this story is! We purchased this book just before our son entered Kindergarten and it has been a favorite ever since (he is now in third grade!) It is a comical story about a little mouse who goes on a fun adventure to school. One thing leads to another as the little mouse goes through all of the things a child does during a day at school - from supplies you might need, to things you might learn, to the lunch room, to waiting for the bus and everything in between. The illustrations are also amazing, so full of color and expression! As a parent, we found this book to be a great way to introduce our son to some of the things he would encounter when he went off to school. I think it was comforting for him to have some idea of what could be expected, since school was a whole new world for him. He continues to enjoy this book and now reads it to his younger brother, who loves the story as well!
