We bought this shoe rack last year from Ikea. We have a lot of company, and hardwood floors, so we usually ask people to take their shoes off in the winter.

This shoe rack is very stylish. It's dark brown wood, which matches nicely with our decor. There are eight positions for shoes. Our children's shoes can actually fit two pair per opening. It's sturdy enough to support our weight when we take our shoes on and off. Some people even put cushions on the top of theirs, though I think it looks fine as is. It's also very easy to clean, which is definately a plus in a household with small children.

Assembly took about a half hour. Ikea sells everything packed flat, and you assemble it. No tools were required beyond the little wrench included with it. I thought the directions were easy to follow, and I was able to put it together without a lot of physical strength.

Overall, it's been a very useful purchase to our home and one that all our guests admire.
