In Cold Blood... Truman Capote By Chenault on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

It has been cold up here in Mansfield, Ohio... So I have been reading a lot to pass some of the long hours while I am stuck inside. While rummaging through the library in my house I found a book I did not know we had, IN COLD BLOOD by Truman Capote. I decided that this would be a great book to keep me entertained.

I like that this book is based on actual events, as I often grow tired of fiction books.

In Cold Blood was published in 1966, it tells the story of the murder of Herbert Cutler and his family in 1959. When Capote heard of the murders he decided to travel to Kansas and write a story about the crime.

Two movies have been made about this book, A 1967 and a 2005 version. I have seen the 2005 release of In Cold Blood which stars Phillip Seymore Hoffman so I knew the basic plot point of the book. I have really enjoyed this 'true crime' novel, and am quite glad to have discovered it hidden among the shelves of books from my personal collection.

Capote also wrote Breakfast At Tiffany's as well as a few other books. If you are looking for something to occupy some of your time, I would recommend reading this one.
