In My Budget But Not My Style
By Ally onWell, for my birthday this year I decided to visit my family in New Jersey.I didn't want to put the miles on my truck, so I decided to rent a car.I checked the prices on Priceline.com and found that for a little over two weeks it would be $319.00 with unlimited mileage. This sounded like a great deal to me.I went ahead and booked the car. When I went to pick up the vehicle it was quick and easy. However, to my dismay when I saw the car I was dissapointed in it's appearence.First I noticed that the back lisence plate was bent half way up and not completely screwed in.I just adjusted it and proceded to enter the car.Through the windows I noticed that the seats were horribly stained in the back.Once in the vehicle I then saw that the inspection was expired.I was dissapointed in this rental.Yes, a great deal, but even so I believe that they should take pride in their product.

Oh my. What a horrible experience! I agree with you just because it is a deal doesn't mean it should be in such horrible shape! I use enterprise myself. Try them next time:0)
It's not the car's fault that it was a disappointing experience -- although this affirms my belief Budget Rent a Car is garbage and out to make a quick buck to the lowest bidders.
Wow, sounds like this was a bad experience for you. It must have been gross to get a dirty car. I was wondering if you complained to them and if they did anything for you if you did. I would think the problems you listed should have warrented a discount or even them giving you a new car.
we rented from Budget a few years back and let's just say we won't be doing business with them any time soon. Our rental looked like yours did and the service was greatly lacking!
I agree with you that they should take pride in their product. They should at least have decent looking vehicles to rent. Thanks for the information. I know to stay away from this car rental company.
Wow...I was really surprised to read all the bad things you had to say about the car they gave you. I never expected this from such a well known name in rental cars. I think you should let corporate offices know about this. They might even give you a free rental next time...hopefully a better car!
Yikes! Stained back seats, bent liscense plate and an EXPIRED inspection! Like Tink above stated, you need to let the corporate office know about your experience. I would never have accepted a car in that condition.
That is too bad the car was run down. i wouldn't like spending a lot of time in an unkept car.
I would have gone right back into the rental office and asked for a new car. No matter what you pay, at least you should be entitled to a clean interior!!!
Yeah I would be disapointed in that too. That is a terrific deal but they need to care more about what they are renting out. It at least needs to be clean lol. Eww. Thanks for the info!
