Indianapolis Children's Museum By lsdientz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This museum has it all. We took our kids to the museum this year (they were 1 and 3). I was wondering how much of it they would be able to do and was truly amazed. They have so much to offer, 4 floors plus the basement. The museum had science, mystery, world experiences, and even a play area. I didn't realize how important play really is to a child until I visited this room. They even have an area just for babies. It was one of the best experiences.

The admission is $7.50 for kids 2-17 and $12.50 for adults so it isn't the cheapest thing you can do but if you can afford it, I would definitely make it a point to visit. There are four days out of the year that are free days. They are open the first Thursday out of every month from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; which is free admission to families. My kids learned so much. We were there all day and they didn't want to leave. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. It appeared the staff really loved working there.

They have a food court area if you wish to purchase your meals. They even have a cafeteria if you choose to bring a sack lunch. There is a really nice gift store with a wide range of items available for purchase. There are several restrooms and the wait for one wasn't long at all.

I hope to visit this museum again next year!
