Inside Man By Shawn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Inside Man was another departure from Spike Lee's usual African-American themed films, but still managed to be just as intriguing and entertaining. The film deals with the aftermath of a bank robbery along with the occasional flashback to the actual robbery and hostage situation. At first glance the film appears to be a sort of “Who done it” when all of the hostages are interviewed and more confusing plot elements are revealed.

However, the plot is much more complex and much deeper rooted than a simple “Who done it” film. The cast reads like a who's who of actors that have been in previous Spike Lee films with the addition of Clive Owen, who manages to rival Denzel Washington as the best actor in the film. Jodie Foster also performs her role perfectly.

Thankfully, the DVD is chock full of special features, which is becoming the norm for DVD releases. Plenty of deleted scenes and features are stuffed inside, making it a perfect DVD for a collector.
