Instant Spa In Your Tub, Home Or Away By Bosoxy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I am not a bathtub type of person… however when I have the option to go on vacation I do look for a room with a whirlpool bathtub… and for that, Garden Botanika bath melts are a must!

Just purchasing a single cube, at $6, makes me feel selfish… but… since there is a deal when buying 3, I do allow myself to indulge in this rare treat. Bathing in a bath that includes one of these luscious bath melts is a real pleasure.

Garden Botanika changes the scents of their bath melts, seasonally. The scents are generally light.. Just enough for enjoyment but not too much to make the air thick with flavor.

Each cube contains great hydrating ingredients such as olive oil, shea butter or mango butter, which are hydrating to even the driest of skins. The last one that I selected was the Pomegranate Wine bath melt, which contains the anti-oxidants of cranberry and grape extracts along with the hydrating mango seed butter and palm kernel oil.

When I place a cube in a bath full of warm water, the cube quickly fizzes into nothing as the water turns into an emollient treat. I can feel the mix of ingredients in the water by simply dragging my fingertips over the surface… It feels so nice… and yet it does not make the bottom of the tub slippery as some bath oils do.

The mixture of the emollient feel along with the gentle scent is very comforting and stress relieving along with hydrating. When I am able to pull myself away from the spa treatment, my skin feels nice and moisturized, not oily. The cube is so hydrating that a moisturizer is not necessary after bathing.

One thing that I do not like about the bath melt is the addition of artificial colors. Garden Botanika does very well using natural ingredients in their products and have done well eliminating parabens in most of their products. The placing of the artificial colors in items that do not need it, seems out of place for the company. I do hope that they consider not adding these colors in the future as they are completely unnecessary and do not add to the pleasure or enjoyment of the bath melt.

Even with the artificial coloring, these bath melts are a treat not to be missed. I would highly suggest that everyone consider a little indulgence every now and again… and a bath with one of these cubes is the perfect indulgence, trust me.

This sounds like something I need to try, I love good bath bombs. I like that it does not make the tub slippery and the skin oily, I don't like that either. A little pricy, but the deal for 3 could help me to talk myself into splurging. :)
