Intensive Therapy For Sensitive Skin By Mamasoup on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
After being won over by the other parts of the intolerant skin programme from Eau Thermale Avene, I had high expectations for this product.
It is a masque that you smooth over your face and let sit for 10-15 minutes. When I first put it on, I was actually surprised at how greasy it felt. It was like a light wax coating on top of my skin. This did NOT please me. I hate the feel of greasy products. I looked at the ingredients... and yes, there it was. Mineral Oil. Blech. I am not a fan of mineral oil for my skin. I also detected a bit of a fragrance. Not my favorite but it wasn't horrible either. I sat at my computer chair waiting for the masque to seep in.
It was dried by the timer beeping 'time's up'. I looked at the directions and it says to tissue off. But nothing was left. Ugh, how was I going to get it off?The directions also say to remove excess with the Avene thermal water spray. I didn't purchase any of that. So I rehydrated it with regular water. BAM!! I was SHOCKED at how smooth and soft my skin was. After the oiliness of the actual masque, I was sure it would still feel oily. Surprisingly it isn't much heavier than the lotion, which I applied afterward.
Next time I won't apply the lotion after the masque. I think that was overkill, and left my skin feeling a bit heavier than if I had just used it alone. My skin is slightly reddened, but not anything like it was when I was just using the baby wash.
All in all, a really great product after the fact of using it!
