Reviewing: Intex Queen Size Air Mattress
Purchased at: Kmart     Price: $34.99 AUD

Just a few weeks ago my girlfriend and i decided we must buy a quality air mattress for our 4 night camping holiday over early February. We both knew that what we needed was a pump up air mattress, manual pump required, as well as of course being able to hold both myself and my girlfriend, without falling off the edges of the bed.I managed to get the Intex Queen size air mattress for $37.99, normally in the high 40's. Once we had got home, we slowly but surely pumped up the air mattress. Unlike other pump up bed's Ive had in the past, it seemed to be relatively quick, whilst at the same time provided good cushioning to lay on. The mattress has a fabric like material on the top, and a durable rubber along the bottom, resistant to scratches from the odd rock or stick.

The mattress has a series of bumps, which to me seems to make it a bit more comfortable, as it seems to fit around your body that extra bit more. Putting the mattress away was a breeze. This only required a quick pull of the valve, and a quick roll on the mattress, then everything all folded up into a nice 40 by 60cm box.

One major problem that I found was the lack of a fabric bag to carry the mattress in. Sure a box is fine for one or two trips, but after taking it out and putting it back in, getting wet, dirty and dropped, Im sure the box is going to be falling apart, and in need of a good carry bag. Pictures will be added shortly.

But other then that, the Intex Air Mattress was a good buy. It does it's job, and seems to be holding together quite nicely. I'll update more and include some pictures on this after our camping trip in February.

We have some air mattresses too that didn't come with bags. But you may be able to find a laundry bag in the linen section of any store. They're simply a cloth bag with a drawstring. They work great for carrying these loose mattresses. We also use them to carry our linens and towels. - We camp in style :)

This sounds like the Coleman one I bought. It came with a carrying bag. I think these still need improve ment on comfort level. I improve ours by putting a thick comforter on it for an overnight guest during our family gathering this month.
