Intex Water Pro Goggle By Momof2Disneyboys on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

After years and years of swimming lessons for my oldest son (now 9 years old) and him still not being able to swim, I was about to give up. He just had this fear and couldn't relax in the water. I couldn't figure it out.

Then one day as we were walking through a local store he spotted some goggles. He said that they would make him swim! I was thinking - yeah right, but bought them anyway since they were less than $4.00. We don't have a pool and it was going to be several months until it was swimming lessons time again, but we did stay at a few hotels with indoor pools in the meantime and he really seemed to like the goggles. They were uncomfortable at first and left marks under his eyes. It took several attempts to make them fit "just right". Not too tight that they left the marks, but not too loose that they let water into his eyes. And they aren't the easiest to adjust, but once we got them to where they needed to be they worked great.

Well, swimming lessons started this week. . . And guess who is swimming??? Yep, it was just that fear of not being able to see under the water that was holding him back! So I would recommend getting some goggles for your little one that has a fear of water!

Just some other information on this pair of goggles - They are anti-fog, ultra-violet protected, hypoallergenic, and have soft thermoplastic rubber eye-cups.

My son is the same way. He had the hardest time swimming, but last year we brought him a pair of goggles. He is now 8 yrs old and his swimming lessons are going so much better!

Amazing story. I've gotten to where chlorine bothers my eyes a lot. I didn't realize these were so inexpensive. I might look for a pair myself.

I'm glad this helped him out, what a cheap way to overcome fear of the water!

They sound great! I understand his fear; I have it too. I can't wear contacts anymore, so goggles don't really help, since they don't fit over my glasses, and wearing my glasses in the water just looks dorky. But it's really really scary to be in water and not be able to see. Glad these goggles helped your son!
