IOGEAR SDMMC USB Card Reader
By Baseline onChoosing an SD-compatible card reader these days can be a daunting task if you are one of those taking advantage of the higher capacity SDHC (aka SD 2.0) cards that currently come in 4, 8 and 16GB varieties. I recently bought an 8GB SDHC card for my Canon SD870 (look for my other review on that), and lets face it, it's much more convenient having one of these little external USB readers hooked on your keychain than it is lugging your camera and it's USB cable everywhere. This was a no-question buy for me.
As I said though, you must shop with caution when choosing a reader. This one specified that it will read SDHC cards, and many of the current other offerings on the market do not, and I've seen many reviews of people saying they are upset with their other readers that just do not recognize their cards. This one does it, and with a very sleek, rugged and durable design. It did cost a bit more than the other offerings, but you get what you pay for. Functionality-wise it's perfect.
Just to think I can put my card in this baby and lug around 8 gigs on a keychain is insane, and with the ever-declining price of SDHC cards (I just bought my 8gig card for $55 USD off of newegg), it can all be had for a very reasonable price.

This is another excellent offering from Canon, and it is affordably priced. I love that you can carry that extra 8 gigs on a keychain! Thanks for the heads up on the SDHC requirement.
Great product! No hesitation... I want one!
