Ion Hair Color Covers the Gray
By Debbie831 onOk I admit it I have gray hair and I don't like it! I have been coloring my hair for sometime now. It started out just because I liked to change the color of my hair, darker in the winter, lighter in the summer. As I have gotten older I have noticed more and more gray, now I color to make sure known of it shows.
I started out by going to the hairdressers and trust me that didn't last long..at $60 a pop I was just about ready to let the gray flow. I then tried the store bought brand, Loreal, Revlon. etc. Ok I thought $12 - $15 every 5 weeks isn't bad.
I happen to be in the Sallys Beauty Supply store and saw that they had hair color there but wasn't quite sure how to use it. it looked completely different than what you buy at Mejier. I asked the sales girl if she could help me and she took me over to the colors and explained. These are the same products that are used by hairdressers in salons, it is professional color. The difference from the store kind is you have to buy the color and then the developer and mix it. My first thought was forget that, I would screw it up. She said it sounds harder than it is. You buy a color applicator, the color and the developer and mix it in equal parts. Since my hair is short she said I could use just 1 oz of color and 1 oz of the developer.I was pretty impressed especially after I looked at the price. What sold me is that the color comes in a 2oz bottle, the developer comes in a 8 oz bottle. I can store what I don't use and in 5 weeks color my hair again. So I get to coloring for $7.00. I was sold.
I brought it home and mixed the two as directed and colored my hair. I can say that I really love this stuff. It works just as well as anything I have used and I think it really covers the gray better than the stuff I have bought in the store. For this price I am sold and now can color my hair as often as I want.

That grey is so difficult to cover up! I don't know if it's the texture of the hair or what, but those strands just won't stay colored unless I get the stylist to do it. Sally's is a good place to get those types of products for much less than in a salon.
What a great idea, I hadn't even thought of Sally's for hair color, thanks
This definitely seems worth it-it's amazing how quickly those grays just pop out!
Along with everyone else , that has gray, we try to cover it and its seems so resistant to coverage. This is worth a try, and the odor of these colors kits, hasn't change for years.
