One of the few frustrating iPhone related things people have complained about is the fact that the headphone plug is recessed and you cannot use most headphones or earpieces as they will not plug into the device.While I think there is some benefit of it being recessed, it does seem like it was done to drive accessory sales.
The accessory that the Apple Store offers for this issue is made by Monster.I can hear the dollar signs running thought your mind as you read this.
This simple little male / female adapter dongle allows you to use any other 1/8" (3.5mm) jack headphone.
Although not rigid, it is certainly not flexible.
It is a must have if you own an iPhone ...and that is what is frustrating!

I don't have an iphone and I don't know anything about them. But, that is pitiful charging for all the extras separate. They should include things like this when you buy one. I would not ever get an iphone just because they sell the products separate like they do. They should sell the full package, and iphone with all the cheaper accessories, discounted for buying them all at once, if that makes any sense.
I hate it when I am forced to buy additional stuff only of a certain kind...
I don't have an iphone either so my knowledge on iphone is zero, thanks for the info imparted.
My hubby just got an iphone and I've been thoroughly disgusted at the way they have marketed their accessories. Like the phone doesn't cost enough already! Luckily, his job paid for his phone!!
