The ipod shuffle is a great product when it works. I purchased a shuffle and right out of the box it didn't work. I was able to exchange it for a new one, which did work. For the next six weeks, we used the shuffle when running with the lanyard attachment to hang around the neck. It then started not working. I returned it to the Apple store and although they replaced it, I was told that the unit was not meant to be worn around the neck while exercising and instead I should have purchased the armband accessory because sweat was causing it to short out. After this, I was out of luck because they would not replace it again. I purchased the armband and the unit worked for approximately 10 months and then began working sporadically until it finally stopped working altogether. Although Apple seems to think that this is a disposable product, I think that at that price it should last longer than a year. Overall, I think it's a great product when it works; it should just work more and for longer than it does.
